Helping pets go from homeless to loved.

That’s the goal of Michigan Humane Society’s Mega March Oct. 2 at Hart Plaza, and the reason why Compuware dedicated three activities Sept.8 as a kick-off to the event.

From the doggie fashion show to a bake sale to a pet adoption, Compuware employees supported the company’s activities and the cause of animal welfare. The events helped raise awareness for the need to raise funds to rescue abandoned pets. Last year, the Michigan Humane Society took in more than 29,000 homeless animals at its three metro Detroit locations. (more…)

There Are Walkers For the Cure, Then There Is Pam Workman

Pam Workman wants to make a personal difference in the fight against breast cancer.

And she means business.

Workman, a Compuware finance manager, completed the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure Walk Aug. 12-14. Together with 1,500 walkers, she trekked 60 miles from Novi to Dearborn to raise awareness and funds.

Each walker is required to raise at least $2,300, but Workman came through with $3,370. Walkers raised a total of $4.1 million. (more…)

Compuware Admin Renee Parker Is Making a Difference in a Detroit School

Renee Parker, Compuware administrative assistant for more than 20 years, has a special place in her heart for the children at Detroit’s Lincoln King Academy, where she has spent five years mentoring elementary students.

“They make your heart smile,” she said.

Every two months during the school year, Parker spends the morning with at least five students. She has mentored second, third, fifth and sixth graders. Parker is one of nearly 45 Compuware student mentors. (more…)
